Legendary singer Bonnie Tyler has died at the age of 75.
Best known for her unmistakable raspy voice and timeless hit Total Eclipse of the Heart, Bonnie Tyler became one of the most recognizable voices of her generation. The singer, from Skewen in south Wales, was placed into an induced coma in May after undergoing emergency intestinal surgery. In June, a spokesperson confirmed she had woken up but remained “very unwell and in intensive care.”

A statement posted on the singer’s official website reads: “Bonnie’s family and team are heartbroken to announce that Bonnie unexpectedly passed away last night in hospital in Portugal as a result of the illness that she was being treated for.

“We will issue a further statement shortly but for now ask for privacy to deal with this tragedy.”

Her death marks the loss of an artist whose distinctive voice and unforgettable songs left a lasting impression on fans across generations. As news of her passing spreads, many are mourning a singer whose music became the soundtrack to countless lives.
